Sometimes you need a good custard to pour on delicious desserts that doesn't go too firm in the fridge. This is one of the tastiest! You can add additional flavour to this by adding some lemon or orange zest, a shot of brandy or even a little cocoa.

- Place milk (300g), cream (300g), sugar (100g), egg yolks (6) and vanilla (1 tsp) into bowl.
- Program 9 minutes / 90C / Speed 4.
- Allow to cool slightly before pouring into a heatproof jug.
- You can serve it warm, however we like to allow it to cool completely and use as a cold pouring custard.
Note: don't forget to freeze those unused egg whites to use in pavlova on another day!
